What is ISO 50001?

ISO 50001 is the international standard for an Energy Management System (EnMS). Rather than prescribing specific technologies, it gives an organisation a structured, repeatable way to measure energy use, set targets, act on the data and keep improving — the familiar Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle applied to energy. The result is that energy stops being a fixed overhead and becomes something a plant actively manages.
